Dior Christmas at Harrods

It Is Christmas With Dior at Harrods

We know we are still in November, but we just can’t help it! We are big fans of all things Christmas, and we are here to keep you up to date as well. Today, all eyes are on London, where we are witnessing the buzziest luxury brand takeover - Dior x Harrods. When a brand like Dior does experience marketing, they go full out, and by that, we mean 44 gingerbread-themed store windows and a giant 17-meter-long installation covering the whole store front in stars, roses, and other house-relevant symbols, creating an otherworldly festive universe for everyone who passes by.

Yet, that is certainly not all. While the outside of Harrods is what attracts the curious, true delight awaits inside the department store, where Dior has created a series of new immersive attractions for Christmas lovers, but also for the maison’s fans. What is said to be Harrod’s largest brand takeover is showcasing, from November 10th to January 3rd, two pop-ups, a gingerbread-themed makeover of the designated Dior retail spaces, a cafe, and last but not least, an exhibition that resembles the Galleries Dior in Paris.

Dior Le Cafe at Harrods

The Dior ‘Le Cafe’ is a must-see if you find yourself at Harrods in this period, as you will not only find delicious looking non-edible biscuits everywhere, but you will also be able to taste real ones as well in an iconic Dior-style decorated space, enriched by warm caramel tones and gingerbread decor all over. The highly fashionable, fairy-tale-like culinary spot offers everything you can imagine, from chic breakfasts to hot drinks and, of course, the Christmas-themed biscuits - you can expect refined French cuisine with a fine British touch.

So, what are you waiting for? Go get your festive on at the sweetest spot in London, but make sure you book in advance, as Instagram lovers from all over the world are stopping by to get the perfect shot. However, if you are not much of a sweet tooth, you can head to the jewel of this takeover, the exhibition. The immersive experience takes you on a magical journey filled with history, craftsmanship, some exquisite gowns part of the fashion house’s archives, and detailed 3D gingerbread figurines of the three historic establishments held by Christian Dior - 30 Avenue Montaigne (the emblematic Paris address), Château de la Colle Noire ( the House of Perfume in Montauroux) and finally, the Granville villa (the couturier’s Normandy childhood home).

Dior Christmas Gifts at Harrods

If you’re looking to make the perfect, extravagant gift this Christmas, or you simply want to treat yourself, Dior has one last dazzling surprise linked to their Gingerbread House craziness. And no, it’s not another sweet treat, but it’s definitely worth passing by. Located in one of the two pop-ups, Dior lovers will be able to find some exclusive pieces created for this occasion displayed on the miniature conveyor belts.

The beauty side of Dior was not forgotten, as Harrods now has two additional spaces dedicated to it, of course, following the gingerbread house theme. One of the spaces was created to host the fragrance collection - La Collection Privée Christian Dior, while the other is centered around makeup, skincare products, and other fragrances.

Dior Goes to London

You might wonder why the fashion house picked London to host the ‘Fabulous World of Dior’ takeover. As Pietro Beccari, chairman and chief executive officer at Dior mentioned the fact that London is one of the most magical cities throughout the Christmas holiday season, while Harrods has been selected following their long, close relationship with the brand, extending back to the Christian Dior days, when the designer opened a corner shop where he carried the spring collection in 1953-1954, respectively. Yes, the takeover is taking place at Harrods, in the British capital, for a number of other reasons, such as the increasing fan base present here, partly resulting from the Dior exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in 2019.

To wrap it up, even if Christmas is not here quite yet, maybe it’s time to start thinking about those presents after all. This Dior takeover calls out for a whole day, so we got it all planned out for you - catch up with a friend over breakfast at the Dior cafe, then move over to the exhibition, right underneath the Dior accessories department, and finally, end the day with a shopping spree at the new pop-ups. And don’t forget to get some pictures with the adorable gingerbread decor!
